ABOUT CCCLU

Centro Cultural Latinos Unidos, Inc (“ CCLU”) is at the Center of Pottstown's Latino cultural community, connecting and serving the Latin American community in Pottstown and through  try County region.

C.C.L.U., is committed to enhancing the lives of Latino by Mentoring, Educating, Advocating, and Empowering the community through enrichment programs in a safe environment.

For 11 years, CCLU has provided programming to increase public awareness of the beauty and diversity of Latin American traditional culture through music, art, dance performances and outreach programs. CCLU has a unique position and reach within its community, with its commitment to exploring, honoring, and promoting the culture and traditions of all 21 Latin American countries represented in the region.

CCLU provides a place for current and future generations of Latinos to learn about their forefather's and mothers' traditions in order to take pride in their heritage, to preserve tradition and to increase awareness of Latino culture both inside and outside the community.

CCLU' operations are three-fold: folklore showcase programs ( presented at festivals, schools, corporations, community center and other venues). Educational programs for schools and  surround Counties, and community arts/ resource center located at the center of the Latino community in Pottstown.

The Latino community values CCLU as arts presenter/ producer, social and cultural network, art and community center, and one of a kind resource center for information about Latin American culture, history and tradition.

CREATIVE ART PROGRAM:

Providing an opportunity of creative expression for both adults and children to cultivate an appreciation understanding and opportunities to use art.

In 2007, CCLU produced, presented, developed and facilitated over 60 cultural events with a total audience of over, 7,000. Events and activities fall into tree categories- public performances, educational programming, and community resources provided through the Talents center in middle heart of Pottstown,

PUBLIC PERFORMANCES

The majority of CCLU's works is in connecting smalls grassroots performing arts groups to clients seeking Latino performer's for their festivals, events, parties, corporate fairs, schools and churches. CCLU organizes, develops and produces each showcase in accordance with each client's need and audiences.
High profile public performances

is one day culture event include presentation of Latin music, and the background and difference of Spanish- speaking countries, a sampling of some of their favorite traditional foods and an exhibitions of featuring dancing from many Latin culture, a day to enjoy our delicious Latin American cuisine, colorful folklore  music and dance, and also learn more about the beautiful and historic heritage of Latino hospitality and fun social dancing.

AFTERSCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM:
Addressing the needs of students in PSD who need resources for achieving their best in their school work
  Supplemental Education: After-school clubs in subjects in which students need help:
homework assistance,education in collaboration with the higher colleges around their are: Ursinus college and Hill School,  guide them to reach higher education

Early-Start reading Program: A program for latino parents to help their children establish a positive attitude  toward reading by providing parents with the tools necessary to create a dynamic learning environment at home which emphasizes reading and writing          

NUEVO HORIZONTE ESL,
Is with group, individual and  with computer tutorial learn English classes, guide the person who are interesting in learn the language, give the tools that CCLU have available for them to used. Latinos people and children when they do not know the language will isolate themselves  from the world's, with this programs will open the dark door to see a new Horizonte for them.

4H PROGRAM:  Leadership program with Penn state Cooperative extension Focusing on creating Teen Leaders ,empower youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with
adults. Generation Poder Latino G.P.L. 4H Program teach the students basic skills about teamwork,  conflict management, advocacy, decision-making and community organizing parents training,

COMPUTER CENTER:. Teach parents and children the basic of computer operation and the use of the latest technology and resources for research on various subject.

JUDICIAL SYSTEM:: Educated youth and parents  system avocate in their behave help,and also prevent delinquency, CCLU,organizing the community through workshop's in areas the are in need. Immigration, education, laborer and healthy issues,

CLUB C.H.I.C.A.  Program is a healthy lifestyles enrichment club for girls 8-18 along with their mother or female guardian, c.h.i.c.a; stand for Cultivating Health In a Changing America.

SPORTS- SOCCER ACADEMY:a Training youth to become in a positive manner and giving them an opportunity to try variety of sports and teambuilding activities and creating a student athlete. the overall goal of the program is to provide the local latino/Hispanic and other's youth an alternate activity• Minimal understanding of the game • teach them  to kick properly, trap the ball • Guide to understand basic rules of the game• Host Classroom courses and discussions •Hosting soccer movie, Ultimately  Strive to instill a deeper sense of respect for self and others appreciation for human dignity and an understanding of the value of cooperation among peers
