Through clinics and training sessions, based on EPSYA practices and the CCLU Soccer Academy curriculum we’ve begun to reintroduce Soccer to an area devoid of any local youth team or club. With the cost of registration and travel rising, it’s often difficult for others to join a team or club from the surrounding area. We want to make soccer not only fun but affordable. All you really need is a ball and your imagination.
CCLU Soccer Academy has held several soccer clinics for our CCLU members, at a local indoor soccer facility, run by EPYSA licensed coaches.
In collaboration with the Pottstown School District, primarily Rupert Elementary School, CCLU, and CCLU Soccer Academy, we started the Pottstown Soccer Club. The primary skills are introduced and practiced culminating in soccer games. This was available to 1st thru 5th grades after school, inside the gym during the winter/spring months from 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM, one day a week per group. The Pottstown Soccer Club will run another 8 week outdoor sessions for the final weeks of the 2011 School year. New soccer balls donated by Lehigh Soccer Association were handed out to students.
CCLU and CCLU Soccer Academy has also done clinics for other organizations, such as the several local Boy and Cub Scout troops, recently organizing and providing a training/game day for the scouts in order for them to obtain their Soccer Badges. This was done at no cost.
We would like to continue to provide a free and low cost clinics, training session and soccer games. Since we are a non-profit organization this can only be done by the kind and generous donations. |
